Freshly upgraded for 2016, the NN14 now features an upgraded EVA foam electric pattern diamond deck pad, built-in SUP paddle holder, and slide in swept back skeg. The board now has a much racier appearance than the previous version of the board, the Classic NeedleNose 14.
In this Sea Eagle NeedleNose 14 review, we’ll be taking a look at the board’s best features, the technical specs and measurements, what comes with the board, the warranty, the different packages for sale by Sea Eagle, and more. Hopefully this review will give you a good idea of whether or not the NeedleNose 14 is the best inflatable SUP for you.

Sea Eagle NeedleNose 14 Review: SUP Overview
The Sea Eagle NN14 has a straight-line hull and a super nice curved touring shape. The razor sharp nose profile allows the board to easily cut through wind and chop resistance, making this a fast and fun board that tracks like a dream.
One of the things that we really like about the NeedleNose 14 is the fact that you can custom tailor the board’s performance based on your own personal skill level. Are you a beginner paddler and looking for maximum stability? You’ll want to paddle from position #1. Are you more advanced and looking for speed? Just step up to position #2 or #3, and it kicks the NN14 into high gear.
Located at the center of the board is a conveniently located grab handle and durable stainless steel D-ring attachments for attaching a kayak seat. There is another grab handle located at the board’s nose, along with a bungee cord tie that allows you to secure your stuff while out on the water.
The new PaddlePocket holder is a nice added touch, as it keeps your SUP paddle exactly where you want it.
The Sea Eagle NeedleNose 14 has a 2+1 fin configuration, and the large rear center skeg is removable.

Sea Eagle NN14 FAQ
How long does it take to pump up the Sea Eagle NeedleNose 14?
Total inflation time is less than ten minutes. If you’re interested in an automatic electric pump that will quickly pump up your board, we recommend the Bravo BP12 electric pump.
Can I bring my dog on the NN14?
Absolutely. Sea Eagle’s use of military-grade PVC means your dog’s nails won’t damage the board. Bringing your dog along for a paddle is a blast, just remember to use a dog life jacket!
Is the NeedleNose 14 easy for one person to carry, or is it best to have help?
While the NN14 is long, the board is very light and easily carried by a single person. Just grab the handle located at the center of the board, tuck the NN14 under your arm, and off you go.
Is the NN14 only recommended for larger paddlers, or would it work for small and medium sized people as well?
The Sea Eagle NeedleNose 14 was designed for larger paddlers. If you are a small to mid-sized individual, you would be better off with either the Sea Eagle NeedleNose 116 (smallest) or the NeedleNose 126 (mid-sized) SUP.
As crazy as it sounds, there’s absolutely nothing on this board that we would change. The Sea Eagle NN14 is pretty much the perfect touring SUP — it’s extremely well built, performs like a dream, and is backed by the best SUP warranty in the business.
