The Bluefin SUP Mammoth is a giant 18′ inflatable paddle board that’s designed for families, small groups, and multi-paddler fun. Built to support up to 10 paddlers, the Mammoth is ideal for corporate team building events, cruising around the kids and dogs, or just hanging out with friends.
One of the newer SUP company startups to hit the scene, Bluefin SUP has quickly gained a loyal following and managed to differentiate themselves in this increasingly competitive space with their durable boards, value-packed accessory bundles, and industry-leading 5-year warranty. They’ve also gotten high marks for their customer service and we’ve always found them to be very friendly and responsive.
This season, the Bluefin SUP paddle board lineup has grown to 10 models ranging in size from 8′ to 18′ in length.
Giant paddle boards continue to become more popular as more people discover how fun it is to SUP with others. At 18′ in length, the Bluefin Mammoth is one of the larger big SUPs on the market and there’s plenty of deck space to accommodate multiple paddlers.
Covering the Mammoth’s top deck is a huge EVA foam deck pad that features a diamond crocodile grip pattern. There are also eight grab handles positioned on the board’s rails which make this large iSUP much easier to carry around.
Also located along the sides of the traction pad are eight stainless steel D-rings which can be used to tie down a SUP cooler, dry bags, or other SUP accessories.
At the nose are three more grab handles and a large bungee storage area for additional cargo capacity.
Positioned at the tail of this massive inflatable paddle board are two final grab handles and twin inflation valves which allow multiple people to pump simultaneously, reducing the time it takes to inflate the board. Unfortunately, the Mammoth only comes with one hand pump so you’ll need to purchase an additional one if you want to make use of the dual-valve feature (this is a big deal on such a large board as it’s a lot more work to inflate). For the best aftermarket pump options, check out our SUP hand pump buyer’s guide. If you really want to make your life easier, we’d highly recommend an electric paddle board pump.
|Max Pressure||28 PSI|
|Max Capacity||1,433 pounds|
In the box is a carrying bag, dual-action pump, and iSUP repair kit. As with all of Bluefin SUP’s inflatables, the Mammoth is also covered by the company’s 5-year warranty which is currently the best offered in the industry.
While the Mammoth itself is a nice option if you’re in the market for a big SUP, we’d like to see some additional thought given to the accessory bundle. The inclusion of a few paddles and an second hand pump would really complete the package. We’d also recommend checking out the iROCKER BIG BLUE which is a bit smaller but includes a nicer accessory bundle.
