Outdoor Master Shark 2S Battery Electric Pump Review – Overview
The Outdoor Master Shark 2 is possibly the most popular, well-known, and frequently recommended electric pumps for inflatable paddle boards. It’s reliable, quick, and easy to use.
And Outdoor Master decided that wasn’t good enough! So they came out with the Shark 2S – a battery powered alternative for off-grid (or just off-parking lot) iSUP inflation.

Outdoor Master Shark 2S Battery Electric Pump Review – Features, Usability, and Portability
The Outdoor Master Shark 2S is nearly indistinguishable from the original Shark 2 at first glance, but packs even more functionality.

The Shark 2S has three different inflation modes.
The Shark 2S shares the same unique body design as its predecessor with the curved outline and concave end to protect the inflation and deflation ports. There is a built-in handle, however the Shark 2S does not come with a bag for all of the included accessories. Along with the pump you get a USB charging cable, 12V charging/power cable, hose, 8 valve adapters, and the user manual. That’s a lot of small parts to keep track of!
However, the Shark 2S also features a new color LCD screen with a few extra features – oh and a massive battery!

The LCD screen can be a little dim in full sun, but easily readable when in your shadow.
The top of the pump has a small semi-circle LCD screen with a few basic pieces of information. Once you turn the pump on by holding the power button, you’ll see a fan icon indicating the active cooling system is operating, a set of green bars for the battery charge, an icon letting you know which memory mode you are in, and a large number for setting and reading the pressure.
When idle, the pump defaults to showing you the current, real-time pressure in the system. If you hook the Shark 2S up to an inflated iSUP, it will read the pressure for you. If you press the + or — buttons, the number will change to let you set the desired pressure for the pump to inflate (0.5-20 PSI) in 0.5 PSI increments.
The “circle arrow” button lets you change pump modes from SUP to Kite/Wing to Mattress. This lets you store three separate values for preset inflation. The SUP and Kite modes work the same (0.5-20 PSI), but the mattress mode uses a set amount of time. Holding this button also changes the settings from PSI to BAR and back.

The Shark 2S charges via USB-C, can power other devices with a USB-A Port, and can charge or operate with 12V DC input.
On the front of the pump, between the inflation and deflation ports, you’ll find the charging ports under a rubber gasket.
The Shark 2S can be charged by either a USB-C cable, or by a 12V cable, both included with the pump. You can also plug other devices into the Shark 2S via the USB-A port to charge them from the Shark’s battery.
Most battery-operated iSUP pumps can only work from their batteries. So if you run out of juice, that’s the end until you can get back to plug it in to charge. The Shark 2S, like the Shark 3, can both charge and operate via the included 12V power cable. So even if you run out of battery power, if you are near a car, you can still use the Shark 2S.
Outdoor Master Shark 2S Battery Electric Pump Review – Inflation Speed and Battery Life
The Shark 2S has a very impressive battery life, but inflates iSUPs at a very moderate pace.

The Shark 2S can fully inflate 6 iSUPs on a single charge..
I was floored when testing the battery life of the Shark 2S. I figured I’d probably be able to inflate our 11’ x 32” x 6” test board to 15 PSI 3 times, maybe 4. But then it kept going. Not once more time, not twice, but nearly three more full inflations.
On a single charge of the battery alone, the Shark 2S filled our test board 6 times (!) and nearly filled it a 7th (about 11 PSI) before shutting off. That’s a lot of work for one battery.
However, I would be totally willing to trade some of that capacity for a little more speed. The average inflation time for the Shark 2S was just 11:55. It’s certainly not the slowest pump we’ve tested, but it’s definitely not fast. Even Outdoor Master’s portable Vortex Pro beats the Shark 2S by over 2 minutes (but can only inflate 2 boards).
But that battery capacity, and its ability to charge other devices, is quite impressive.
Outdoor Master Shark 2S Battery Electric Pump Review – Warranty and Customer Support
Outdoor Master offers the longest warranty on an electric pump that we’ve found – 2 years for the pump itself when purchased from Outdoor Master. Additionally, they offer a 30-day return period, and sell replacement hoses and adapters separately if you lose or break them. If you have questions about your Shark 2S pump, you can reach Outdoor Master via email, phone, website form, or social media.
Outdoor Master Shark 2S Battery Electric Pump Review – Final Thoughts

The Shark 2S is a reliable pump with a massive battery capacity.
The Shark 2S is a win in my book. It’s portable, has a huge battery capacity, moderate inflation speed, and can even store multiple pressure settings for different boards or other inflatables. To top it off, it acts like a backup battery power bank for your phone, GoPro, or other small devices as well. The biggest drawback? I wish it came with a carrying case for the charging cables and inflation nozzles. Otherwise, this is a great midrange price pump that keeps going… and going… and going…
