Bluefin Mammoth 18’
18’ x 60” x 85” Capacity: 10 people
Availability: US, CAN, UK, EU, AUS
The Bluefin Mammoth 18’ iSUPtakes the idea of a multi-person paddle board and turns it up to 11. At 18’ long and 60” wide, the Mammoth not only lives up to its name but is the largest in our list of group paddleboards, with a capacity of up to 10 people. The five-point cargo area makes it easier to secure regular-size items (which can easily feel tiny on this SUP!), and the 10 additional d-rings on the sides of the Mammoth let you easily secure any additional or larger items like coolers or chairs. The large deck pad dominates the main area of the Mammoth and is uncluttered and open for you and all of your friends!
The Bluefin Mammoth 18’ does come with a custom wheeled backpack and hand pump, but does not include any paddles.
Bottom Line:The Bluefin Mammoth 18’ is big enough for the whole crew at an excellent value.

Hydrus 14’ Party Board
14’ x 54” x 6” Capacity: 5 People
Availability: US, International Shipping Available
Use code “BOARDER” at checkout to take 12% off the Hydrus Party Board
The Hydrus Party Board brings their high-end construction and materials to the water in a way you can share with a friend, or two, or three.
One notable difference between the Party Board and other group SUPs on this list is the thickness. The Hydrus Party Board is only 6” thick. While this does reduce the overall capacity, it also makes it far easier for people to get back on after jumping, diving, or being pushed off (not that we’d do that to our friends!).
In addition to the large cargo area and 10 extra D-rings, the Party Board also has two Scotty-style mounts on the rear for fishing rod holders and other accessories.
Bottom Line: The Hydrus Party Board is an incredibly well-built and versatile multi-person paddle board, and it comes with a lifetime warranty!

Multi-Person Paddleboards FAQs
What To Look For In A Multi-Person SUP?
The overall capacity is the most important thing to look for in a multi-person paddle board. While most 15’ group SUPs will easily support 5-6 paddlers, a slightly larger 17-18’ board can nearly double how many people can join you on the water. At the same time, an 18’ SUP can be very difficult to manage with just 2 or 3 people. If you’ll often be using it with smaller groups or with one adult and a few kids (or dogs), a smaller 12’-15’ board might be best.
The next most important things to look for are storage and features. Do you plan to bring a cooler (or two)? What about dry bags or fishing equipment? If you like to do a lot of different things on the water, then a paddleboard with more tie-down points and accessory mounting options may be better. If you and your friends like to hit the beach and catch some waves together, a cleaner aesthetic might suit you better.
What Else Do I Need Along With My Group SUP?
When purchasing a multi-person paddle board, you’ll want to pay attention to what accessories the board does and does not come with. A transportation bag can make getting the board from your car to the water easier. Extra pumps can make lighter work of getting the board ready (and electric pumps can help even more). How many paddles will your group need? Does everybody have their own PFD, or do you need to bring a few extras?
Recommended Gear for Group Paddleboarding
Once you have your multi-person iSUP, a few items can make your time on the water even more enjoyable.
- PFD – A PFD (Personal Flotation Device), for each person is not just a good idea but may also be required by law where you paddle. Larger vessels may also be subject to additional regulations. Inflatable belt pack PFDs are a great, low-profile way to stay safe on the water.
- Dry Bag – Not everything we bring on our SUPs should get wet. Soggy sandwiches and waterlogged phones can ruin a good day out on the water. Dry bags come in various shapes and sizes to fit your needs. See our Best SUP Dry Bag reviews here.
- Coolers – whether you are keeping your drinks cold or your catch fresh, a great cooler can make the difference after hours out in the sun. Plus hard coolers make a great seat to take a break from standing! See our Best SUP Cooler reviews here.
- Electric Pumps – Whether you are keeping your drinks cold or your catch fresh, a great cooler can make the difference after hours out in the sun. Plus, hard coolers make a great seat to take a break from standing! See our Best Electric SUP Pump reviews here.
Final Thoughts – Best Multi-Person SUPs
Paddle boarding with friends and family is a great way to have fun and make memories together. Whether you are catching waves, catching fish, or just catching some rays, a multi-person iSUP opens up a whole new level of fun on the water.
Editor’s Note
After seeing our list above, you may be asking yourself “what about XYZ brand or model?” First and foremost, we will only review and recommend products we have personally tested. You won’t find spec-only reviews and blind recommendations here. You may notice a few highly rated boards in our reviews are not on this list. While we stand by our reviews and ratings of those boards, last year several companies ceased their affiliate programs. This prevents us from being compensated for the hours, days, and weeks we spend with these products for testing and reviewing (though they still receive the benefit of our content). If you enjoy our content or find it helpful, we ask that you help support Inflatable Boarder by considering brands that continue to support us first.
