The Bluefin SUP Voyage is a board that was designed primarily with one goal in mind – extreme stability. Featuring a triple-chamber design with stabilizing side rails and a wide, 38″ profile, the Voyage is an ideal choice for activities such as SUP fishing, on-the-water fitness workouts, river running, and more.
The Bluefin SUP brand was launched a few seasons ago and it has quickly gained a reputation for having durable iSUP designs, ultra-affordable pricing, and an industry-best 5-year warranty.
This season, there are 10 Bluefin SUP inflatable paddle boards ranging in size from 8′ to 18′ in length. In addition to the Voyage, the company has designed one of the best kids’ paddle boards, several popular all-around models, touring iSUPs, and two multi-paddler boards.
The Bluefin Voyage has a unique design that sets it apart from the rest of the models in the company’s lineup this season. By combining an ultra-wide 38″ profile with oversized side rails, the Voyage has a catamaran-like design that provides a high-level of stability on the water.
Covering the top deck of the Voyage is an EVA foam traction pad with a diamond croc grip texture. There are also two fishing rod mounts positioned near the rear of the traction pad, multiple D-ring tie-down points, and a carrying handle mid-board. The carry handle features a Velcro closure that allows it to double as a paddle holder, a feature which is perfect for anglers.
In addition to the center carry handle, there are also grab handles located along both rails as well as the nose and tail of the board. These make it much easier to handle the board in and around the water, especially given the Voyage’s overall size and weight (42 pounds).
Positioned at the board’s nose is a four-point bungee storage area as well as a GoPro camera mount that can be used to capture footage of your paddling or SUP fishing adventures.
At the tail is another D-ring for attaching the included SUP leash as well as one of the inflation valves. The other two inflation valves are located near the rear of the side rails.
As with Bluefin SUP’s other inflatable paddle boards, the Voyage comes with a nice set of accessories. In the box is an adjustable fiberglass paddle, two fishing rod holders, an iSUP backpack, leash, dual-action pump, and repair kit.
Also included with the Voyage is Bluefin SUP’s impressive warranty coverage which covers the board for a full 5 years from manufacturing defects. The typical inflatable SUP comes with a 1, 2, or 3-year warranty, so offering a 5-year warranty makes a bold statement about the durability of Bluefin’s boards and the company’s commitment to standing behind the gear they make.
I have had a Voyage for about 18 months. I am a 67 year old kayaker and can honestly say that it is excellent. Its great for all kinds of water and, as a mountain leader, it is perfect for expeditions and camping.
