The 8’ and 10’ Floating Hammocks make a great addition to any day on the water.
Nixy Floating Hammocks – Overview
Relaxing on the water is second to none. And while stand up paddle boarding is incredibly fun, nothing beats laying back and cooling down in the water.
Nixy’s G5 inflatable paddle boards are true performers on the water, but when you want the same level of high-quality, lightweight construction for your apres-paddle activities, then you have to check out the Nixy Floating Hammocks.
The Floating Hammocks come in two sizes – 8’ diameter that’s a great choice for up to 4 people, and a 10’ diameter for up to 8 people at a time.

Nixy Floating Hammocks – Construction
The Nixy Floating Hammocks have welded seams for maximum longevity.
The outer ring of the floating hammocks has a fusion PVC shell with drop stitch fabric core. This means the outer PVC layer is applied directly to the inner fabric so there’s no risk of a glue separation failure.
Nixy took that idea one step further and also heat-welded the seams of the ring as well. This physically bonds the layers of PVC together into a single structure rather than relying on a layer of adhesive to hold the separate pieces.
One of the biggest differences between the Floating Hammocks and Nixy’s iSUPs is the thickness. The Floating Hammocks are 8” thick instead of a standard 6”. This makes them more rigid at a lower pressure (recommended 12-15 PSI) and adds a ton of extra volume for increased capacity.
As an example, Nixy’s 8’ Floating Hammock has a capacity of 700 pounds, while the iRocker 8’ iLand has a capacity of just 500 pounds.
The inflatable ring of the Nixy Floating Hammock has an outer diameter of 8’ or 10’ depending on the model, and an inner diameter of 5.5’ and 7.5’ respectively. That inner donut is lined on the bottom with a nylon mesh fabric – similar to a trampoline – connected to the outer layer with an elastic cord. This lets the mesh flex into the water as you sit on it, but keeps large items, like coolers, contained.
Nixy Floating Hammocks – Features, Accessories and Comfort
Each Nixy Floating Hammock has full deck pad coverage and multiple mounting points.
One of the many things I like about the Nixy Floating Hammocks is the continuous deck pad. It never really made sense to me why there would only be a few small sections of deck pad on the outer ring that limit where you can comfortably sit (or stand). Having the full-size deck pad really opens up the entire hammock for a comfort spot no matter where you are.
Carrying the hammock is easy thanks to the handles spaced around the perimeter of the ring. The 8’ hammock has 4 handles, and the 10’ hammock has 6 handles. You can easily attach the hammock to a dock, boat, buoy, anchor or other structure either by the handles or by the three D-rings spaced around the top of the ring.
The 8’ Floating Hammock (here) has 4 handles, and the 10’ Hammock has 6 handles to easily carry from spot to spot.
Each D-ring also has a M8 threaded socket for cup holders, speakers, fishing rod holders, camera holders, or any other accessory you’d like to attach to the hammock.
When you are done for the day, the hammock folds up into a compact 40” x 30” x 10” shape that easily fits into any vehicle. And setting it back up the next time is easy with your choice of either the Typhoon hand pump or Ventus 12v electric pump included free.
Nixy Floating Hammocks – Fun on the Water
The Nixy Floating Hammocks are built for fun and relaxation. The full-coverage deck pad makes it easy to stretch out and relax along the ring when you want to dry off, and the mesh center provides support when you want to cool down in the water. Standing in the center of the Hammock can be tricky, but is very easy around the outer ring.
Of course, the hammocks also make for a great base of operations. You can tie up your SUPs to take a break from paddling, fish from the comfort of the water, or practice your backflips off the ring.
The mesh floor will hold larger items like coolers, but you’ll want to keep small items like sunscreen, phones, etc. securely in a dry bag attached to the D-rings.
The Floating Hammocks also make for a great floating dock.
Nixy Floating Hammocks – Warranty and Customer Support
Nixy warranties their Floating Hammocks for 3 years – just like their G5 iSUPs. That’s one of the longest warranties I’ve seen for a float like this. They also have a 30 day return period in case you decide that you really should have gone for the 10’ instead of the 8’ version. If you do have any questions about the Nixy Floating Hammock, you can contact their customer support team via phone, email, web form, online chat, or social media.
Nixy Floating Hammocks – Final Thoughts
Relax and enjoy the water on a Nixy Floating Hammock.
I love paddling, but any time on the water is a good time in my book. And nothing beats a hard fitness paddle session (or not-so-hard paddle session) with a nice soak. With welded seams and an 8” thickness, Nixy’s Floating Hammocks are perfect for setting up early and relaxing all day.
