NRS Heron 11′ Review: SUP Overview
The NRS Heron SUP provides a stable platform for fishing and can hold up to 300 pounds. Because it comes with a carry bag and a pump, it’s easy to fold up, transport, and inflate with little effort. In addition, the Leafield D7 valve will provide you with efficient, reliable, trouble-free inflation and deflation.
The Heron is 11’ long by 39” wide, with a thickness of 5” on the deck and 7” on the side chambers. Made of super durable PVC drop-stitch material with double sidewall construction, this incredibly solid iSUP is built to last. We’re also big fans of the Digital Camouflage (digicam) design — this is a really nice looking board.
The NRS Heron 11′ iSUP can inflate up to 20 psi with a total air volume of 364 liters, so it keeps its shape well. As an added bonus, the acrylic stiffener also helps to keep the board stiff without making it heavier or harder to roll up once it’s been deflated.
The Heron contains six D-rings to allow for multiple attachments and customizations, along with three mounts for fishing accessories, a bungee cord storage area at the board’s nose, and an adjustable tie-down area on the back of the board for your cooler and other fishing gear. Overall, we were so impressed with this board that we recently included the Heron in our list of this year’s best inflatable fishing SUPs.

NRS includes the following accessories with the Heron 11′ fishing SUP:
- High-pressure pump
- Pressure gauge
- SUP carry bag
- Valve adaptor

- 2 Fins (one 5” and one 9”)
Unlike a lot of other boards on the market which come with 1 year warranties, the NRS Heron is covered by a full 3-year warranty which is obviously reassuring for anyone who is considering this board. NRS has a great track record and is a solid company that stands behind their gear.
What if I have issues inflating the NRS Heron 11′ or installing the fins?
If you have any questions about either of these issues (or anything else to do with your board), NRS provides amazing customer support and is ready and willing to help you in whatever way they can. All you have to do is give them a call.
What do I need to know when I’m transporting my inflatable SUP?
We’d recommend storing your board in the included carry bag for added protection. After use, make sure that you rinse the board off with fresh water and dry it well.
Is there a certain way I should fold my board?
After deflating the Heron, fold it so that the fin plates are resting at the top where you can still see them (not hidden within the folds). Then, just place the board in your carry bag and you’re good to go.
What can I use to clean my inflatable paddle board?
Use fresh water to clean your board, along with soap or inflatable boat cleaner (if needed). If you want to use 303 UV protectant, limit your usage to once or twice a year (as using it more often can damage your inflatable SUP).
If you’re willing to spend a little more to buy top-shelf quality, look no further than the NRS Heron 11′ inflatable fishing paddle board. This is an extremely sturdy, super durable iSUP that provides a great fishing platform with plenty of weight capacity. The larger size, sturdy construction, and ability to inflate up to 20 psi make this board ideal for holding up to 300 pounds, unlike many of the other inflatable paddle boards on the market.
Although this may be more expensive than many inflatable SUPs on the market, you get what you pay for. With a variety of D-rings and tie-down points, adjustable fins, two handles, three accessory mounts, rigging in both the front and back, and the high-quality accessories that are included, this board is a solid choice for anyone who wants a serious fishing SUP.
Lastly, we love NRS’ rock-solid 3-year warranty (both retail and commercial) which really shows that the company is serious about standing behind their gear.
