In an effort to bring awareness to the massive problem of plastic waste pollution on our waterways, stand up paddle boarder Lizzie Carr decided to put some of that plastic to use…
With some help from her boyfriend, Carr collected 900 plastic bottles from UK canals and built a fully-functional raft out of all the trash. So what’s the big deal with plastic, you might ask?

  • It takes 450 years for a single plastic bottle to break down
  • The average individual goes through 200 plastic bottles in a year
  • The UK alone produces waste of 13 billion plastic bottles per year

If each of us does our part, we can make a difference.
