The Hover Stand Review – Features, Usability, and Portability
The Hover Stand is a fairly simple idea with great execution. Use the included hand pump to inflate the two air tubes (1-1.5 PSI max), and then slide your board between the tubes to hold it in place.
The tubes connect with a strap that goes under the board. The two triangular pads connect to the tubes with velcro. You adjust the tension on the board by moving the position of the triangular pads in or out on top of the tube.
The tubes inflate with just a few seconds of pumping, and the triangular pads velcro to the tubes..
Once your board is between the tubes, you can connect the included strap to the D-rings on either side of the Hover Stand to secure your board. By strapping the Hover Stand to your board, you can keep it upright even in light winds (but you won’t want to leave it unattended in heavy wind).
The kit is just over 2 pounds and packs into a small drawstring bag. You can easily store the Hover Stand (including the pads and pump) in your SUP bag or car.

The Hover Stand Review – Final Thoughts
Unless you are lucky enough to live near a large, sparkling-clean, spring-fed lake, chances are when you finish paddling for the day there is dirt, sand, salt, mud, algae, or something else on your board. Cleaning all that off is important in keeping your paddle board on the water for many years.
I’ve been using a three-gallon garden sprayer (with fresh water only) to clean my boards by the lakeside for years. It works well, but holding the boards in place and keeping them from instantly getting dirty again has always been a problem. Not anymore.
The Hover Stand makes it possible to keep boards upright and off the dirt, hands-free, while I clean and let them dry. The inflatable design makes it incredibly easy to set up and pack away, so The Hover Stand lives in my car these days.
